Objective

Like most charities we work with, the new website for Carers Trust (now Caring Together) had a number of important objectives.

Primarily they needed the website to generate more income from fundraising and to increase direct donations, however, a diverse range of secondary objectives included promoting and selling their other care services to existing users. Locating and attracting the many hidden carers out there that did not know Carers Trust existed for them, and providing support information, advice and guidance (IAG).

Approach

We completed a thorough user journey planning process to identify the different types of users and their needs and motivations for visiting the site, alongside a content strategy to map out the required content. This enabled us to create a beautiful and highly customised WordPress website which is fully mobile-responsive and offers intuitive navigation and great accessibility for all users.

In addition, a password-protected portal provides a platform for trustees to share confidential information amongst the team and a repository for important company information.

Interactive services and location maps provide valuable service information to users. Local and organic search engine optimisation and paid search ads help ensure the information is easily found online by the right users.

We continue to support and look for ways to continuously improve the website for users and the organisation. We provide search engine optimisation, paid search management including optimising the clients’ Google Adwords Grants, and technical support to look after the security and performance of the site.

Highlight: Unique design

The vibrant design and unique layouts offer an interesting and engaging experience but don’t compromise the usability or accessibility of the site.

Users love the simplicity and being able to navigate to deep content quickly and easily, and the site offers our users plenty of flexibility and tools to continue to grow the site content.

Traffic is up with lots of new users through social media and good results using the Google AdWords charity grant. Granite 5 has a very responsive team, they understood our work, what we wanted to achieve and had really done their research. Our SMARTT website support package means we have regular digital marketing expertise to promote and develop the site.
