Objective

Like most charities we work with, the new website for Carers Trust had a number of different objectives, many of equal importance.

Primarily they needed the website to generate more income from fundraising and to increase direct donations, however a diverse range of secondary objectives included promoting and selling their other services to existing users, finding the hundreds of hidden carers out there that need support, and providing support information, advice and guidance (IAG).

Approach

We completed a quick user journey planning process to identify the different types of users and their needs and motivations for visiting the site, alongside a content strategy to map out the required content. This enabled us to create a beautiful and highly customised WordPress website which is fully mobile-responsive and offers an intuitive navigation and great accessibility for all users.

A password protected portal provides a platform for trustees to share confidential information amongst the team and a repository for important company information.

Interactive services and location maps provide valuable service information to users and ongoing search engine optimisation and paid search services help ensure the information is easily found online by relevant users.

We continue to support the website with search engine optimisation, paid search management including monitoring and maximising Google Adwords Grants, and technical support to look after the security and performance of the site.

Highlight: Unique design

The vibrant design and unique layouts offer a really interesting and engaging experience but don’t compromise the usability or accessibility of the site.

Users love the simplicity and being able to navigate to deep content quickly and easily, and the site offers our client plenty of flexibility and tools to continue to grow the site content.

Traffic is up with lots of new users through social media and good results using the Google AdWords charity grant. Granite 5 has a very responsive team, they understood our work, what we wanted to achieve and had really done their research. Our SMARTT contract means we have regular digital marketing expertise to promote and develop the site.
