A beautifully crafted user experience for design pioneer
Gordon Russell Design Museum
Celebrating sixty years of furniture production and housing a unique collection of styles spanning the Arts and Crafts to 1930s, it was essential that the new Gordon Russell Design Museum website offered a beautifully interactive and engaging user experience.
The primary objectives for the site were to drive website traffic and museum footfall, also to promote the museums work within the educational sector, and to improve messaging and communication of key information for visitors.
Secondary aims for the site included delivering an easy to use content management system to encourage the museums staff to curate new content, and to provide an archive system to display a comprehensive library of assets.
We delivered a unique and exciting bespoke website design which included a number of different page layouts for a range of content types. The website was built using the WordPress content management system to ensure that the site was easy to manage and worked hard to achieve maximum browser compatibility for this unique design across multiple devices and browsers.
The site integrates directly with Mailchimp for managing newsletter subscriptions and boasts a sophisticated design archive system with advanced searching to file a wealth of materials that couldn’t be squeezed into the physical museum.
