Granite 5 is flying high after securing a mission with the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
Following a competitive pitch, we've been cleared for take-off to develop a new on-line presence for the charity.
The business marks a return to the “flight deck” for Granite 5 MD Jill Davies – a former commercial pilot and flying instructor – who qualified at 17 and went on to became the UK’s youngest female jet pilot aged 22.
The East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) charity serves Norfolk, Suffolk, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire, operating two helicopters which fly during daylight hours 365 days a year. Based at Norwich and Cambridge Airports, they deliver emergency trained doctors and critical care paramedics to patients anywhere in the region in around 20 minutes.
The EAAA’s existing website will be enhanced to incorporate new branding and offer multiple channels for the charity to engage with supporters, volunteers, corporate partners, the media and the general public.
“It’s a hugely exciting project and we’re thrilled to have been selected to partner EAAA” said Jill Davies.
The website will play a vital role in helping the charity raise the £4.2million a year it needs to fund its work.
The charity has recently announced plans to extend its service to cover the hours of darkness – which will see crews are available during peak commuting periods all year round. In July it takes delivery of the first of two ‘night capable’ aircraft and hopes to start flying at night in September – subject to Civil Aviation Authority approval and funding. The move night operations will see the charity’s annual costs rise to nearly £6 million.
To support its fundraising, the new site will take donations on-line. Other plans include an online shop, virtual gifts and an online auction selling donated products.
Said EAAA Chief Executive Tim Page: “Our highly-skilled medical teams are out every day helping to save lives across the region but we are constantly exploring ways to enhance the service we offer – the move towards night operations is a good example.
"As we grow, the importance of our communications with our supporters also increases. After all, without their support we simply couldn’t operate the service. Granite 5 has presented exciting strategy for our new web presence and we’re looking forward to working with them to deliver it and launch it to our supporters.”
